About me
I am a PhD student in Developmental Psychology at METU. I graduated from TOBB ETÜ in 2021 with a double major in Psychology and English Language and Literature, and earned my Master’s degree in English Language Teaching (Linguistics) from METU in 2023. During my Master’s, I worked as a TÜBİTAK project assistant, investigating the relationship between creativity and metaphor comprehension and implementing an intervention program with preschool children.
Following my graduate studies, I worked as a child development officer and PSEA focal point for an earthquake relief project. I mainly assessed developmental disorders and delays in refugee and Roma children, and provided targeted counseling to support their cognitive and language development.
My research investigates the role of symbolic language development and gestural communication in the acquisition of numerical cognition and number sense during early childhood.
