On Friday, April 10th, the Multimodal Language and Cognitive Development Lab at METU was honored to host a special hybrid general meeting featuring an insightful guest presentation by Dr. Laura Morett from the University of Missouri.

Dr. Morett joined our research community to share her expertise through a talk titled "Investigating the Impact of Gesture on Lexical Tone Acquisition in a Unfamiliar Second Language" which prompted a series of engaging discussions regarding the intricate intersections of language, gesture, and cognitive processing. By connecting researchers both in-person and online, the event served as a fantastic platform for international collaboration and academic growth within the lab.

We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Morett for her time and for sharing her work with us, as well as to all our lab members whose thoughtful participation made the session such a success.
