About Me
I completed my Master’s degree in Statistics at Ankara University in December 2024. My thesis, titled “Comparison of Deep Learning (Artificial Intelligence) and Statistical Methods for Sign Language Recognition,” focused on evaluating modern AI approaches alongside traditional statistical techniques in sign language recognition systems. I also hold a Master’s degree in Turkish Sign Language Interpreting and a Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Eskişehir Osmangazi University. Turkish Sign Language is my native language, and I have an interdisciplinary background spanning engineering, linguistics, and artificial intelligence. My research focuses on developing sign language recognition and translation systems using machine learning and deep learning techniques. I worked as a chief engineer at TRT for 13 years. Since 2025, I have been working as a researcher at Middle East Technical University (METU). I aim to develop technological solutions that facilitate communication for deaf individuals.
